Trained at UBC and in Japan, Kenneth Hsieh is the assistant conductor of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. This season, he will conduct the orchestra in more than 35 concerts. He is also the music director of the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, a group for young professional musicians. His mentors have included Kazuyoshi Akiyama, Lee Kum-Sing, Krzysztof Penderechi and Simon Rattle.
